Green Tara: Brief Introduction
Samaya Tara, popularly known as Green Tara, is depicted in a royal ease posture with her right leg folded and her left leg extended over a blue lotus, ready to rise and assist those in need. She is adorned in maroon Buddhist robes and intricate jewelry. Her earrings symbolize patience, understanding, and renunciation, while the diadem with five jewels represents the transformation of the five delusions into the Five Buddha Wisdoms.

She sits on a white moon disk, symbolizing wisdom in Buddhism. This wisdom, when united with compassion, leads to the enlightenment of Sakyamuni Buddha. Her right hand is extended in Varada Mudra, the boon-granting gesture, while her serene expression radiates benevolence.

Finishing: Stone Setting
The statue is embellished with semi-precious stones such as turquoise, coral, and lapis lazuli. Each stone is carefully selected and meticulously set, creating a vibrant contrast against the copper base. The secure and precise placement of these stones enhances the statue’s elegance and visual appeal, making it a remarkable piece of art.

Gold Painted Face
The face of Green Tara is delicately painted with gold to highlight her eyes and lips—details that metalwork alone cannot fully convey. This sacred practice in Buddhism not only enhances the statue’s beauty but also imbues it with vitality and spiritual presence, preparing it for consecration.

Full Fire Gold Plating
This statue features full fire gold plating, also known as mercury gold plating—a traditional and authentic Nepali technique. Unlike electroplating, fire gold plating offers greater authenticity, durability, and luster. Its revival in Nepal reflects a renewed appreciation for cultural heritage and artisanal craftsmanship.

Lost-Wax System
The statue is crafted using the ancient lost-wax casting method. A detailed wax model is created, coated with multiple layers of ceramic, and then heated to melt away the wax, leaving a mold. Molten metal is poured into the mold, cooled, and the ceramic shell removed, revealing a precise metal sculpture.
