Vajrasattva: Brief Introduction

Vajrasattva, regarded as the Adi-Buddha by Nepalese Bajracharyas following the Vajrayana tradition, is an embodiment of purity and enlightenment. His body is white, with one face and two hands. In his right hand, he holds a golden vajra at his heart, while his left hand holds a silver bell. Seated in the Vajraparyanka posture, Vajrasattva is adorned with precious silks and ornaments, and a jewel diadem. His body radiates the marks of a Sambhogakaya and emits a limitless, clear light, reflecting the notion of non-substantiality, similar to the moon’s reflection on water.

In certain tantric practices, Vajrasattva also has a father-mother form, though this is typically shown only to those initiated in the Highest Yoga Tantra. In this form, his consort carries a Kartika in her right hand and a kapala in her left hand.

Sacred Serenity Collection

This exquisite Vajrasattva statue, created 15–20 years ago, is crafted from pure copper with a deep sense of spiritual significance and artistry. The statues in this collection were made by skilled artisans well-versed in Buddhist teachings. Each statue was created with precision and respect for traditional religious guidelines, reflecting the artisans’ belief that they were crafting representations of divine beings rather than just ordinary sculptures.

Chocolate Oxidized Finish

The Vajrasattva statue is meticulously treated with a chocolate color antique patina, designed to replicate the look of a copper statue that has gracefully aged over a century. This patina undergoes a special oxidation process, providing depth and character while acting as a protective layer against further oxidation. Unlike a superficial coat of paint, the patina is carefully applied to ensure long-lasting durability, maintaining its authenticity and vintage charm over time. The result is a unique statue that evokes a sense of history and the traditional craftsmanship of Nepal.

Lost-Wax System

Crafted using the ancient lost-wax casting technique, this Vajrasattva statue is a true testament to the time-honored process of creating detailed metal sculptures. The process begins with the creation of a wax model, which is then coated with a ceramic shell. Once the shell hardens, the wax is melted away, and molten metal is poured into the cavity to create the final sculpture. After cooling, the ceramic shell is removed, revealing a finely detailed metal representation of Vajrasattva. This method ensures exceptional precision and timeless beauty in every statue.
