Padmasambhava: The Lotus-Born Master
Padmasambhava, meaning “The Lotus-Born”, is a revered 8th-century sage from Oddiyana credited with introducing Vajrayana Buddhism to Tibet, Bhutan, and surrounding regions. In Tibet, he is honored as Guru Rinpoche (“Precious Guru”) and considered the Second Buddha by followers of the Nyingma school.

Known as a profound scholar, mystic, and tantric master, Padmasambhava once declared:

“My father is the intrinsic awareness, Samantabhadra. My mother is the ultimate sphere of reality, Samantabhadri… My name is the Glorious Lotus-Born. I act in the way of the Buddhas of the three times.”

This statue captures the essence of his enlightened presence and timeless teachings.

Full Fire Gold Plating
This statue features traditional fire gold plating, also known as mercury gold plating—a revered method in Nepali craftsmanship.

Unlike modern electroplating, fire gold plating involves applying real gold using heat and mercury to bond the layer permanently onto the copper surface. Though more expensive and labor-intensive, this technique is celebrated for its:

Rich luster and deeper golden hue

Long-lasting finish

Cultural authenticity

Artisans across Nepal are returning to this method for its spiritual and aesthetic value, especially in sacred art like this Padmasambhava figure.

Crafted with Ceramic Mold Casting
Made using the ceramic mold casting process, this modern sculpting technique allows for superior detail and smooth finish in miniature forms.

The process involves:

Sculpting a detailed wax model

Coating with ceramic layers

Kiln firing to remove the wax

Pouring molten copper into the mold

Breaking the mold to reveal the final statue

The result is a durable, intricate statue with fine lines and accurate features, ideal for personal shrines, gift-giving, or sacred art collections.
