Shakyamuni Buddha: Brief Introduction
The term “Buddha” originates from Sanskrit, meaning “awakened one” or “supreme awareness.” Closely tied with the concept of “Bodhi” (enlightenment), Gautama Shakyamuni—born around 563 BCE in Lumbini, Nepal—represents the embodiment of compassionate wisdom and enlightened consciousness. His teachings emphasize the root cause of suffering: desire and attachment.
Shakyamuni Buddha taught that greed, selfishness, and possessiveness cloud our perception and keep us from reaching higher awareness. His life and philosophy offer a contrast to materialistic values, guiding us instead toward inner peace and the alleviation of suffering through mindful awareness and selflessness.

Full Fire Gold Plating
This Shakyamuni Buddha statue features traditional full fire gold plating, also known as mercury gold plating. This process involves applying a genuine layer of gold to the statue using time-honored techniques unique to Nepalese artisanship.
More durable and aesthetically rich than electroplating, mercury gold plating is regaining popularity for its authenticity, longevity, and vibrant finish. It reflects a revival of Nepal’s deep-rooted craftsmanship and spiritual artistry.

Ceramic Molding System
Crafted using a ceramic mold casting technique, this statue is the result of a meticulous and modern approach to metal sculpting.
A detailed wax model is created first, then layered with ceramic materials to form a strong mold. Once fired in a kiln, the wax melts away, leaving behind a precise cavity. Molten copper is then poured into the mold. After cooling and solidification, the ceramic shell is broken to unveil the finished statue.
This process ensures exceptional detail and durability while preserving traditional aesthetics with a contemporary edge.
