About Shakyamuni Buddha
The name Shakyamuni Buddha—meaning “Sage of the Shakya Clan”—refers to Gautama Buddha, the enlightened teacher born around 563 BCE in Lumbini, present-day Nepal. The term Buddha itself signifies the “Awakened One,” one who has achieved supreme awareness and liberation from suffering.
Through his profound insights into the nature of desire, attachment, and suffering, Shakyamuni offered a path that transcends materialism and ego-driven existence. His teachings emphasize that true happiness arises from inner transformation, not external gain. Shakyamuni’s life and teachings inspire countless followers seeking compassion, mindfulness, and spiritual awakening.
His image, seated in serene meditation, invites reflection, clarity, and the pursuit of inner peace.
Silver-Plated with Chocolate Oxidized Finish
This statue features a refined two-tone finish, combining the radiance of silver plating with the earthy depth of chocolate oxidation. Selected surfaces are expertly silver-plated to catch and reflect light, creating a soft brilliance. The remaining areas are oxidized, creating a dark patina that enhances texture and contrast.
This balance of finishes not only elevates visual detail but also evokes the timeless elegance of ancient Himalayan art, offering a statue that is both sacred and sophisticated.
Gold Painted Face
The face of Shakyamuni Buddha is meticulously hand-painted with 24k gold, emphasizing the eyes and lips to capture a lifelike presence. This sacred ritual—an integral part of Buddhist consecration—imbues the statue with spiritual vitality and expressive clarity.
In Buddhist tradition, the painted face is more than decoration; it is a symbolic act of awakening, bringing the statue to life for spiritual practice and devotion. The result is a figure that exudes peace, mindfulness, and compassion—qualities that Shakyamuni embodies.
Lost-Wax Casting Technique
Crafted using the lost-wax casting method, this Shakyamuni Buddha is a product of centuries-old Himalayan artistry. The process begins with a hand-carved wax model, which is encased in a ceramic shell. Once cured, the wax is melted away, and molten copper is poured into the mold to form the statue.
This ancient technique allows for exceptional precision, preserving even the finest details of the artisan’s work. The result is a unique, heirloom-quality sculpture—rich in both spiritual meaning and artistic heritage.
