☛ Introduction to the Wind Gong
The wind gong, also known as a flat gong, is a beautifully resonant percussion instrument known for its powerful, immersive sound and deep spiritual symbolism. Made from a copper-based bronze alloy, this gong has a broad, flat surface that allows sound to radiate freely in all directions.
Unlike traditional gongs with a raised rim, the wind gong’s open, rimless design produces an expansive tonal spectrum—making it ideal for sound healing, meditation, orchestral compositions, or sacred ceremonies. Its simplicity in shape belies its complexity in sound.
☛ About the Sri Yantra Design
This gong features an intricate Sri Yantra (Sri Chakra) design—an ancient and sacred mystical diagram used in Shri Vidya, a Hindu tradition. The Sri Yantra consists of nine interlocking triangles that radiate from a central bindu (point), symbolizing the universe and human body in harmony. It is also known as the Navayoni Chakra and is considered the mother of all yantras.
When visualized in three dimensions, the Sri Yantra becomes the Maha Meru, representing Mount Meru, the cosmic mountain at the center of all creation. The presence of this design enhances the spiritual and energetic qualities of the gong.
