Vajrakilaya: Brief Introduction

Vajrakilaya, also known as Dorje Phurba in Tibetan Buddhism, represents the personification of the diamond-tipped peg (Sanskrit: Kila), symbolizing the power of one-pointed concentration (Ekagrapha). This fierce and wrathful deity is revered for his ability to transfix negative energies and dissolve obstacles that hinder spiritual truth and awakening.

Through his practice, Vajrakilaya purifies delusions and negativities, clearing the path for practitioners to achieve enlightenment. His essence embodies the unity of all principles (Dharmas), bridging the inner and outer worlds to support spiritual awakening and realization.

Silver-Plated and Chocolate Oxidized Finish

This statue features a stunning combination of silver plating and chocolate oxidation, a unique finishing technique that blends luminous shine with earthy tones. Selected sections of the Vajrakilaya are meticulously silver-plated, creating reflective highlights that capture light beautifully. The remaining areas are treated with a dark oxidation process, resulting in a rich patina that enhances the depth and character of the piece.

Crafted Using the Lost-Wax System

This Vajrakilaya statue is meticulously handcrafted using the lost-wax casting technique, also known as investment casting. This ancient process ensures remarkable precision and detail:

  1. A wax model of the sculpture is created, capturing intricate features.
  2. The model is encased in a ceramic shell formed from multiple layers.
  3. The wax is melted and drained, leaving a cavity in the mold.
  4. Molten copper is poured into the mold, creating a flawless metal replica.
  5. Once cooled, the ceramic shell is removed, revealing the final sculpture.
