About Bhadrakali
Bhadrakali is a revered form of the Divine Mother, especially venerated in Southern India. She is one of the fierce manifestations of Adi Parashakti, the primordial cosmic energy. Often identified with Mahakali, Chamunda, and Kariam Kali Murti, she is deeply worshipped in Kerala and associated with protection, power, and auspiciousness.
Unlike the terrifying forms of Kali, Bhadrakali is considered benevolent and protective, guarding devotees against evil forces while ensuring their spiritual upliftment. Her presence is seen as a symbol of strength, transformation, and divine grace.
Chocolate Oxidized Patina
This Bhadrakali statue features a chocolate antique patina, developed through a controlled artificial oxidation process. The patina is designed to replicate the natural aging of copper over many decades, producing a warm, rich tone with subtle variations that mimic authentic antique surfaces.
More than just aesthetic, this finish serves as a durable protective layer, shielding the metal from environmental oxidation. The result is a statue that looks like a treasured heirloom — aged gracefully, full of character, and built to last.
Antique Finishing
Please note that this is a modern statue with an antique finish, not a historical artifact. The antique patina has been skillfully applied to give the impression of an aged piece. Through carefully developed techniques and surface treatments, the artisans have successfully recreated the feel of an old, time-worn copper idol while maintaining the quality and integrity of a newly made piece.
Ceramic Molding System
Crafted using the ceramic mold casting process, this statue reflects precision and modern craftsmanship. The method begins with a detailed wax model, which is coated in layers of ceramic material to form a mold. Once kiln-fired, the wax melts away, leaving a cavity that is filled with molten copper.
Once the metal cools and solidifies, the ceramic mold is broken away to reveal the final statue — retaining every fine detail of the original wax model. This method ensures high fidelity, durability, and artistic accuracy, combining tradition with innovation.
